Those of us wanting to plant and maintain a more drought tolerant garden populated by native California plants face an interesting challenge. Our Mediterranean climate rewards plants that establish themselves in the spring then make do with very little water in summer. This talk offers up a host of such valuable plants, be they shrubs, perennials or ground covers, along the way drawing from the great number of beautiful and durable natives.
